Ms. Christina Puntel, a Spanish teacher at Saul High School, is turning her dream into reality. She is creating an inspiring learning environment. One exciting vision is a vibrant Spanish patio, an outdoor space that reflects the warmth of Spanish culture and serves as a dynamic setting for educational activities.
The development area is situated just outside the agriculture building, and her classroom overlooks the new Spanish Patio. This project started last Spring with a student who painted the mural, establishing the theme for the new Garden.

Future plans include continuing to transform the area into a Spanish patio with assistance from her new students. The goal is to enhance learning by labeling items in Spanish. Brightly colored flowerpots will be added for extra vibrancy. Plans to incorporate Spanish spirited painted benches aimed to create inviting spots for students to gather and collaborate. These seating arrangements can be strategically positioned to promote discussions, storytelling, or quiet reading time. The flexibility of outdoor seating allows for a dynamic environment that adapts to various teaching methods and activities.
Furthermore, the benches will undergo cleaning and painting. A wooden canoe, previously borrowed from a Flower Show exhibit, will be revitalized on the patio. Repurposed planters will enhance the environmental area in lessons of new life and energy.
We will keep you informed about the progress of the Spanish Patio!
