Barbara L. Strain 1981​
President

Barbara L. Strain was born and raised in the Roxborough area of Philadelphia. She graduated from W.B. Saul School of Agricultural Sciences in 1981, where she earned a Keystone Farmer Degree while majoring in Animal Science. However, life led her to a different path, and she now is a Critical Care Registered Nurse in Philadelphia, holding a Master of Science in. Additionally, she serves as an adjunct Nursing professor at Montgomery Community and is married with three adult children and six grandchildren. Barbara believes that hard work and dedication are essential for achieving success. She has actively participated in Saul events since 2001 and is one of the founding members of the WB SAUL ALUMNI. Her goal has always been to enhance the Alumni Association to better support the school. In her free time, she enjoys being with her family and pets, engaging in various community organizations and exploring her family's historical research.

Celeste Preston 2005

Vice President

 

Celeste Preston was born and raised in the Northwest section of Philadelphia, PA. She is a 2005 graduate of W.B. Saul High School of Agricultural Sciences, majored in Landscape Design, 2004-2005 Overall Secretary of the Philadelphia Chapter of the FFA, Greenhand Farmer degree and 2005 State Champion of the Landscape Nursery Division of the Pennsylvania State Regional Competition. She went on to compete nationally in Louisville, Kentucky with her team under the guidance of Barbara Brown. She was awarded a citation from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and a citation from the Philadelphia City Council for her agricultural achievements. After receiving several scholarships, she graduated from Delaware Valley University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Ornamental Horticulture and Environmental Design. She has had a career in the landscaping industry for over 20 years concentrating on grounds maintenance, container, landscape and garden design with an emphasis on facilities management. She is also a multidisciplinary artist/entrepreneur who loves fashion design, gardening, farming, teaching, garden coaching, community building/organizing, event planning and caring for children. ​​​​

 Alonna Whittle 2010
         Treasurer

Alonna Whittle is the alumni board's treasurer beginning in 2025. Alonna, a proud 2010 Saul graduate, majored in small animal science and was a FFA officer throughout her time in Saul. She goes back to Saul to give back in various ways by serving as a speaker during speaker series events, talking to students about life after college, and donating to the alumni association at the annual Country Fair Day. Professionally, Alonna is a risk manager in the financial services industry, having graduated from Temple University with a degree in accounting in 2015.

            Sean Jones 2011

              Board Member

Sean Jones is a passionate and experienced professional with a diverse background in event planning, horticulture, food service, and educational programming. A 2011 graduate of Saul High School and a former Pennsylvania FFA state officer, Sean is currently studying at Penn State University. He brings a unique blend of creativity, leadership, and community engagement to his work. As the creator of Night Bloom Solutions, Sean collaborates with various agricultural industries, assists with workshops for the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, and helps manage Saul's Flower Show webpage. He also serves as a board member for Events and Scholarships, demonstrating his commitment to mentorship and helping communities flourish.

  Joseph Ward 2002

     Board Member

Joey Ward is a proud graduate of W.B. Saul High School’s Class of 2002, where he earned his Keystone Degree and laid the foundation for his passion in agriculture. During his time at Saul, he participated in Export for Scholars, majored in Animal and Meat Sciences, and was actively involved in FFA, attending numerous events and showing livestock at the Pennsylvania Farm Show.
Today, Joey is a Senior Human Resources Generalist, where he combines his strong people skills with organizational expertise to support workforce development and employee engagement. He is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in human resources to further strengthen his professional path and align his passion for people with career goals.

​Outside of work, he has a small hobby farm where he raises goats, chickens, guineas, ducks, geese, and turkeys, a reflection of lifelong dedication to agriculture and the values first embraced at Saul. Whether in the field, the barn, or the workplace, he strives to live out the principles of hard work, growth, and service to others.

  Kyle Goodwin 2004

    Board Member

Kyle Godwin is a proud alumni and graduate of W.B. Saul High School of Agriculture Sciences’ class of 2004. After graduating Saul, he went on to Penn State University, where achieved his Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Kinesiology. During his 17 years working in the television entertainment industry, he’s received multiple Emmy, Webby and Peabody awards for his notable work as director and producer at ESPN and MSG Networks. Kyle currently resides in the Philadelphia area with his wife and three amazing daughters.

Debra Olsen 1981

Board Member/Grant Writing

After graduating from Saul in 1981, Deb Olsen spent over a decade as a retail florist and horticulturist. A position she took at Historic Bartram's Garden led to a renewed interest in education. She returned to school and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with honors while serving as the Director of Education at Bartram's for many years. Debra was active in museum consulting and environmental education nationally. She went on to teach elementary science education in a public school for 20 years and is now retired. She now writes, paints and gardens.

David Mora 1977
  Board Member

David Mora graduated from Saul High School in 1977, where he showcased his dedication and skills by earning the Agriculture Mechanics Proficiency Award, the State Bronze Award in Agronomy in 1977, and receiving his Keystone Farmer's Degree in 1978. He continued his education at Pennsylvania State University, graduating with a B.S. in Agriculture Education.

David’s passion for teaching led him to work at Saul High School from 1981 to 1982 and periodically through 1985. He later became a Grounds Maintenance Worker at Fairmount Park Commission from 1986 to 1990. His career progressed as he served as an Agronomist at the Philadelphia Water Department from 1990 to 2004.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, David has been deeply involved in his community. He served as an Officer of AFSCME Local 2187 from 2004 to 2022. His dedication to volunteerism is evident in his role as a 4-H Adult Volunteer at Fox Chase Farm since 2022 and as a Penn State Master of Watersheds Volunteer starting in 2024.

David Mora’s path reflects his commitment to education, community involvement, and professional growth.

Anna Bellucci 1994 Board Member 

Anna Bellucci proudly graduated from Saul High School in 1994. She is one of the founding board members of WB Saul Alumni, having served as the former secretary. Additionally, Anna was involved in the Saul High School Home and School Association while her child was a student there.

Rosemary Montgomery Eikov 1972 

Board Member 

Rosemary graduated from Saul High School in 1972. She attended Pennsylvania State University, earning a degree in Biology in 1976, and began her career as a clinical chemist at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. Later, she returned to the University of Pennsylvania to earn both a BSN and MSN in nursing. Over the years, she held various leadership roles in pediatric nursing before retiring in 2022. In retirement, she continues to work in sleep research with children and volunteers in her local community, including Fairmount Park, in roles involving children.
