In the world of education, alumni support can transform lives and enrich communities. Individual contributions often help schools preserve their history and create a nurturing environment for current students. Today, I would like to express a heartfelt gratitude to all our supporters, with a special mention of Harold Tichenor, a proud alumnus. His generosity has been instrumental with his continued support of Saul High School, and I am eager to share his inspiring story.
Years ago, when I set out to digitize all of Saul High School's yearbooks, I quickly realized I needed reliable equipment for the task. Every school is a treasure trove of memories, achievements, and milestones. Yearbooks serve as vital time capsules, capturing the unique essence of each graduating class. They are more than just books filled with photographs; they reflect the culture, values, and experiences of students who walked the halls.
Harold Tichenor private messaged me, suggested a particular scanner and funded the new scanner/printer. He grasped the importance of this project and provided the necessary funds to acquire an advanced scanner and printer. With his contribution, we not only streamlined the digitization process but also showcased the incredible power of community involvement.
In 1963 Harold graduated from The Philadelphia High School of Agriculture and Horticulture now known as W. B. Saul High School of Agricultural Sciences.

While Harold is not looking for a pat on the back, I would like to give credit where credit is due. Recently, Harold private messaged me again inquiring about the social media post stating we had some higher priced items to purchase for Saul. I shared the list with Harold, and he promptly sent the Alumni Association the funds to purchase two high priority needed items. After thanking him, his response was "You're so welcome. Keep up the good work. It is reassuring to know there are supporters like you guys out there".

With his continued generous support, the alumni association purchased a tool cabinet combo unit- 12 drawer organizer for nuts, bolts and other items. Photo is fresh out of the box!

Secondly, we were able to purchase a mobile workstation which will be beneficial for design projects such as the yearly flower show. It still needs to be set up.
As some Harold's willingness to give back to Saul High School is a source of inspiration for all of us. It highlights that everyone possesses the power to make a difference—believe it or not, even small contributions can have a tremendous impact. Harold Tichenor's journey exemplifies how one person's commitment can uplift a community. I have found that Saul's roots run deep and always can be traced back to the small farm school in the big city. Thank you, Harold, and to all that make a difference!
